Comprehensive Auto Brake Repair

We provide a full range of brake repair services to ensure your vehicle performs at its best. Our services include:

Anti-Lock Brake System
The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) ensures your wheels keep rotating during braking, preventing skidding and providing better control. If your ABS light illuminates, visit Tucson Transmission Auto & Diesel Repair for a diagnosis and professional brake repair.

Brake Fluid Flushes
Brake fluid can absorb moisture from the air over time, diminishing brake effectiveness and becoming corrosive, potentially harming the system. Regular brake fluid flushes are vital to ensure fresh fluid usage in your vehicle. Consult our technicians to determine the right time for a brake fluid flush.

Brake Hoses
A brake hose carries pressurized brake fluid from the master cylinder to the brakes. A damaged hose can lead to delayed or weak braking, and a leak may result in brake failure. While the need for a replacement brake hose isn't common, any signs of cracking or wear should prompt immediate replacement.

Brake Pad & Shoe Replacement
Squealing brakes often indicate brake pad issues. When brake pads deteriorate completely, a harsh metal-on-metal grinding noise occurs during braking, indicating potential rotor or drum damage. Although experienced individuals may attempt home repairs, if you have brake concerns, it's best to consult an auto repair professional promptly in order to receive the highest quality auto brake repair.

Caliper Replacement
The brake caliper houses brake pads and clamps around the rotor to apply pressure during braking. Caliper problems can cause uneven braking, leading to skidding during braking and loss of control in adverse weather conditions. Contact Tucson Transmission Auto & Diesel Repair in Tucson at your earliest convenience for assistance.

Resurface Rotors
In a disc brake system, rotors attach to your vehicle's wheels. The friction with brake pads over time creates grooves and cracks. The process of resurfacing restores rotors to a "like-new" condition, reducing noise and wobbling.

Signs of Bad Brakes in Tucson

Staying safe on the road starts with a properly functioning braking system. If you notice changes in how your vehicle responds while driving in Tucson, it may be time to have your brakes checked by a professional.

Grinding When Stopping

Grinding sounds often mean your brake pads are completely worn down, causing metal components to rub together. This can lead to costly damage if not addressed quickly.

Brake Pedal Feels Unresponsive

A delayed or unresponsive brake pedal can indicate serious issues within the braking system. Immediate inspection is recommended to avoid unsafe driving conditions.

Brake Fluid Leaks

Leaking brake fluid can reduce hydraulic pressure, making it harder for your vehicle to stop. This is a critical issue that should be repaired right away.

Dashboard Alerts or Warning Lights

Modern vehicles are equipped with sensors that detect brake system issues. If a warning light appears, it’s important not to ignore it.

Auto Brake Repair FAQs

Hopefully we can help answer some brake repair related questions you may have:

Why are my brakes squeaking?

Squeaking from your brakes can be caused by a variety of factors, including debris like stones caught in the caliper, or it may indicate that the brake pads are wearing thin.

Why are my brakes making a grinding noise?

A grinding noise from your brakes often means urgent maintenance is needed. This sound can indicate that the brake pads have worn down completely, causing metal-to-metal contact that can damage your rotors.

Why are my brakes vibrating?

Vibration during braking is commonly due to uneven rotor surfaces. Misshapen rotors can cause the car to shake when the brakes are applied. Resurfacing or replacing the rotors at Tucson Transmission Auto & Diesel Repair can correct this issue and restore smooth braking.

Why are my brakes making a burning smell?

A burning smell from your brakes could indicate they are overheating. If you notice this along with smoke from the wheels, it's important to pull over safely and check if the brakes have cooled. Continuous driving could lead to further damage.

How do you repair a sticking brake caliper?

A sticking brake caliper can cause uneven braking, poor fuel efficiency, or even serious damage if ignored. The repair typically involves inspecting the caliper slides and pins for corrosion, cleaning or replacing them as needed, and ensuring proper lubrication. In some cases, the entire caliper may need to be rebuilt or replaced-especially if the piston is seized or the rubber boot is torn.

While some experienced DIYers might attempt this at home, brake system repairs are best left to trained professionals to ensure your safety. If your brakes feel off or you suspect a caliper issue, stop by Tucson Transmission Auto & Diesel Repair so our technicians can take a look and get you safely back on the road.

We are extremely satisfied with Tucson Auto and Diesel! My husbands truck was pretty much dead and Josh the owner contacted us through Facebook and got us in the very next day! We had some trouble getting our truck there, but nonetheless we got it there. We expected our truck to be out for a couple days considering we had just dropped it off, and they got it back to us the same exact day! If I could recommend anyone to go anywhere for their trucks it’s this place! 10/10 experience!

Holy Cow! This place knocks it out of the park. Super friendly staff especially the greeters at the front desk. The cost for my KIA Transfer Case replacement was very reasonable compared to the "crooks" at Royal KIA service department. I will be going back here for sure, highly recommended.
